Cleaning carb. plates

Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of using a card de-varnishing process like Sea Foam? What all will it clean?

Never used sea foam, I remove and clean carbs, then I know they are clean and won't lean out a cylinder.

Finger plates? Not sure what you mean.

Sorry, proper term is valve leaf and leaf plate just inside the intake. See attached photo, part #3-4. Thanks for your input.

Can clean them with any type of cleaner.
