  • Brand new E-tec 130 problems!!

New 130hp etec. First run yesterday, just an hour or so no problems-rather pleased.
Second run today after 30 mins check engine warning, system low voltage warning and motor down to limp home mode- we have BIG tides here and luckily the flow was still with us to get back. Trailered home now will not start at all to flush through. Dealer on his way to us tomorrow hopefully. After several four strokes with no problems this is a worrying start to our re introduction to 2 strokes! Any ideas?

Check that battery cables are tight(don't use wing nuts on battery terminals).

dealer came to us first thing next day. No 55V when tested. Would not start. Unclipped stator wire connections and connected into computer diagnostics again engine started first time. Connectors not pushed home properly (at the factory?) and (partially?)lost their contact no doubt being bounced on the boat at sea and then completely when trailed back. Excellent service from dealer.
