1996 Evinrude ELAN 35hp 3 Cyl.
I just replaced the forward (remote) control cables. Now I can only get the outboard up to about half revs, so I'm only able to get the craft up to around 1/3 of it's usual speed. If I adjust the threads (at the motor end) on the cables, will I be messing around with the idle rpm too?
How should I go about getting the cable to push out to the motor's top speed again? What idle rpm should I be sitting at and what rpm should I allow the outboard to get to at top acceleration?
Many thanks.
Jim
