Dropped a screw in the upper unit

I just bought a 25 hp etec and the cowling latch is messing up. The pin that holds it in is coming out and not allowing me to close it. I tried to take it off but I dropped my screw head down and I can't see it. In guessing it fell in the water drainage "area" ( don't know what to call it). Any idea where it went or if it will cause a problem?

Shouldn't cause any problems unless got under shift linkage.

if the engine is off then simply hold it upside down.
it wont hurt the engine doing this.
