  • 1990 Looper fouling one plug 140 V4

Hi, my 1990 140 seems to be on and off as far as how well it runs. Changed plugs recently and the were quite greasy. They cleaned up well and I put then to the side. The more recent plugs seemed oilt but not as black with running on the hose briefly. One out on the four was carbon-ed up much more than the rest. So, I rebuilt the carb on that cyclinder alone. I will have to buy a spark tester on the way home tonight. The VRO was changed with the newer version recently and the fuel lines, filters and fuel are fresh. The oil may be questionable though? Previous owner was a rewal putz....

Check compression, fire and make sure carbs are clean.

Right need to check compression & spark, and I would also clean all the carbs.. One question though, when the fuel lines were replaced what did they use for clamps?

If your getting air leaks the VRO will pulse more and pump more oil. If you have a vacuum gauge you can put a piece of clear tube in-line before the VRO. You should be able to see any air bubbles. Also you would want less than 6hg of vacuum.
