So my buddy has a mid 90's 88 spl jet...and im chasing some fuel problems...but my strange question is this...on the pivot shaft..(meaning the shaft that the outboard pivots on) under the carbs...the top of the hollow shaft hasn't got a plug on it...I dont know if it is supposed to or not...but when we accelerate water is riding up over the jet pump housing and climbing the pivot tube and flowing up into the engine couling under the carbs...I have never seen this happen before...but I also have never had a jet...what the heck? Any thoughts?
