I have a 1976 6hp motor. In which position should the Rich /Lean knob be in when starting?

Rich/lean knob
You dont play with this knob for starting. Its function is purely for high speed running mixture. At WOT, turn the knob to 'rich', engine may or maynot change pitch, but slowly turn towards 'lean' to obtain the fastest engine RPM, then back to "rich" JUST A WEE BIT, and leave it alone!!!. The only thing you normally need is the choke and throttle to srart this engine.
