1993 te60tletd wont idle

i HAVE A 60HP TE60TLETD that runs great and gets up on plane now. after running full throttle i bring it back to neutral the motor will go straight to 4-5000 rpms. Does not show excessive smoke. if i shut it off and restart it will idle fine until i run it in gear then back to neutral does the same thing. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

May be the throttle cable hanging up.Could be broken and not pulling the carb down.
