and I am trying to find out what it is for please.

Look in the back of your manual and it should show you where to purchase tools to work on your motor, go there and just run that number and it should show you the tool and it's function also. Sounds like it's used to remove the gear casing?

show's its obsolete and used for removing a gear cover, like on a watch believe it or not? do you have a pic of it?
