Engine won't crank trim and tilt won't respond. Found power to solenoid from battery but no power back to key switch. .Followed elec schematic to what is called main power relay.
Checked it out and found 12 volts going in but the relay itself remains open. Doesn't seem logical to remain open. The juice stops there and does not continue on to regulator and power distribution unit. Am I all wet or am I at least going in the right direction?
Seems to me the relay is blown. Its the only thing I can find to affect both major systems......starting and trim tilt.
Any where else I should look?

I suppose I could tie a jumper to the output from the relay but I'm a bit sceptical in that the circuit path goes through the power dist unit and more importantly the regulator rectifier.
$400.00 part depending on where you buy it.
This whole prob is a bit confusing in that according to Seloc there is supposed to be a 20 amp in line fuse somewhere around the starter. Have not found one yet.

I don't know where that fuse is.But may very well be the problem.I tried to find it but all I could find out is there is supposed to be a spare up by the fly wheel. It showed a blade type fuse.If that was the right one.Update...I called someone and they said it was a blade fuse and looked like a plug in in the middle of a wire, but when you open it up theres the fuse.

            Hi
Its been raining out here (no Ca) so have not braved the elements to go looking for the infamous fuse. I have not been able to find out if the relay in question actually replaced
            The fuse.
Thanks for trying to help out. Mechanics think they are lawyers trying to charge you for a simple conversation over the phone. Crowley use to help but their mechanics are too busy now working in the yard on customer boats.
