on initial start, a knocking noise can be heard from the motor. the noise will go away but the motor seems to loose speed. the prop will spin but gets stuck. if i force spin the prop, then power, it will spin but quickly sticks again. what parts could be suggested to fix this? should i just buy all the parts that could be the problem? is that worth it?

So my brother in law and i took the motor apart. We found that one side of the magnets had come loose inside the housing. We cleaned it up, soap and water, sanded, re-epoxied. Cleaned the armature. brushes look fine. Hooked it back up with fully charged batteries. it spins much more quietly and doesnt stick like before but it is still not right. the power cables are definitely getting too hot. It seems to be running under reduced power. If i run the motor for too long, which is only minutes, i will hear a clicking noise from underneath the foot control pedal. I read a thread where someone replaced the controller module under the foot pedal housing to fix a problem similar to the one i seem to have. im gonna order the part from iboats, replace it, then get back with the results...
