Oil?

My Etec 30 came with blue oil in it. My dealer asked me about the oil setting and I chose to go with the lean setting.

The bottle of XD-100 that I bought is honey colored oil while the XD-50 is more of a blue tint.

Does my engine have the right oil for my setting in it?

I learned to work on 2 cycle engines on ultralite aircraft.We never trusted the oil injectors.The rule we used was 3oz. per gallon no matter what.The racing oil which uses caster oil just like the model planes we flew as kids.Modern oil is an ashless oil,its just what your willing to pay for the same thing.How many 2 cycle oil makers do you think are willing to be sued because their oil failed?Remember the oil in the gas is all the lube that engine will ever get.Lean means less.That would not be my choice.Just me.

P.S Its better to have a fouled plug than a burned up engine.
