My 70 hp Evinrude is running pretty good finally, it burns a bit of oil as it can be seen while idling, at some point the VRO is going to fail. I guess the easiest and most reliable is to just eliminate the VRO and premix the gas/oil. If I was going to rebuilt the VRO, 2 questions where do you find a reliable kit and after rebuild do you preload the pump with oil so it doesn't run too lean until the pump catches up with oil? Just wondering because I would like to keep the VRO.
