Thanks in advance for the help.
The lower unit on my '83 70HP Evinrude is cracked and when I got the engine a complete second lower unit was included. Im not sure of the year of the donor engine, but they look identical. The only difference is that the spline on the driveshaft is different than the damaged one. My question is can I simply use the shaft out of the damaged unit and install it in the good one and be good to go, or is there more to it than that? Also, how difficult is it to remove the shaft and is there anything I need to watch for or be aware of when removing/installing it?
Thanks again and I look forward to any replies.
