What causes the motor to cut out after running with a load for 20-30 minutes? it seems like something is getting hot and breaking down. Any ideas what it could be

Is the fuel primer bulb sucking flat?, try pumping primer to see if can keep engine running or bumping choke, check to see if have spark at plugs when it shuts off.

I have checked for spark and there is spark in all four plugs. I will check the other things you mentioned. Could it be the coil breaking down or the power pack when it gets hot?

If a coil is breaking down then it will not have spark on that cylinder. To lose fire on all cylinders it could be bad stator, key switch, stop switch or power pack.
