1996 Evinrude 150 HP Beeping

I am having an intermittent issue with my 1996 150 HP Evinrude. Occasionally when I shift to neutral, the RPMs will jump up to around 1200 rpms and I will get a loud beep. The engine will continue to idle at this high RPM level. This occurs when the motor is fully warmed up. It does not always happen though. Usually the motor idles normally when I shift to neutral. It does seem to be doing it more often now however. The engine is starting and running fine otherwise. Any ideas?

You will get an alarm if motor is overheating or low oil output, may need to check throttle cable adjustment to see if coming back to idle every time.
