I have come across an SST60 mid section and gear case in one piece. All seems to be perfect. The water impeller is the same as the stock in-line threes and I've replaced it with a new one. I have some questions.
1: Will this a bolt on to my 1994 Johson 70. We're it's yes to the power head looks identical to the current stock unit.
2: What is the gear ratio of the gear case?
3: Can I run the stock OMC prop or should I look for a clever of some sort? If so, in either case, what pitch?
My goal here is mainly sound and looks. I'm not tryn for anything special. Just something out of the normal and custom. I just want to do it right so the boat is still fishable, reliable and looks good/unique doing it. I have the SST cowl and pan and they are a perfect fit but it looks...odd with the stick mid due to the lack of the plastic coverings that go below the pan. The wont bolt on to the SST 60 pan. If they would've, I wouldn't have gone back and purchased the SST mid and gear case.
