I have read it before, but forget the exact details. Can someone please point me in the right direction to the information for setting your outboards timing with the boat/outboard out of the water. Any and all help is appreciated.

Static timing is not accurate and doing it depends on model, best to check it on water at WOT.

Thank you for your response. I set my timing out of the water last year by using this "out of water method" and it was so accurate it scared me. I have a real concern about leaning over the back of a 16 ft aluminum hull with a 20 hp at wide open throttle trying to set the timing. This method was by a gentlemen named "Mark Reese" (I believe) from this forum. Once again I really appreciate your response and concern, but I am looking for this method. Thanks again.
