150 ffi races on startup

I have a 1999 150 ffi that races on startup. If I turn key off and restart most of the time it will run fine until I shut it off, then the same problem occurs. I have changed the tps, to no avail. Any suggestions? thanks..oldboater

That is usually a sticking throttle linkage, check for binding of throttle linkage and throttle plates, Could be an air leak in intake manifold or lean fuel condition. Need to have it checked with computer diagnostic to see if has any codes or failed sensors causing EMM to advance timing, monitor timing when have laptop connected, if have no faults and timing is stabilized then probably a mechanical problem.
