I was given a 1980 Evinrude 35 HP motor that hasn't run for the past 6 years. Had to replace the water pump which I did. My question is besides getting water out of the pee tube (pump indicator hose) and out exhaust relief on the back of the exhaust housing, Is it normal that water comes out of a 1/4 inch hole on the housing on the lower gear case and at another 1/4 inch hole at the lower mount of the outer exhaust tube. I checked the water pump by using a garden hose and ear muffs. I hope this is normal. Thanks for the help

Yes that is normal, nothing to worry about.

Thanks Now I can put the boat ( a 1962 MFG ) that came with the motor in the water to see if that floats.
