Want to replace water pump and thermostat on Evinrude 25hp REDA. When removing thermostat cover does cylinder head come off also? It looks like the bolts hold everything together like a sandwich.

Yes bolts hold water jacket cover and head on.

Ok, thanks! Is it possible to remove themostat cover and gasket without disturbing cylinder head and head gasket?

Possible but not likely.

After looking more closely it appears that the thermostat cover are 3/8 bolts and the cylinder head bolts are 7/16. It apears that you can remove the cover without disturbing the cylinder head since the cylinder head bolts are recessed. Has anyone done a thremostat on this model or a simular one?
