I have a 115 2 cycle 1998 evinrude that overheats when flushing using a hose. It has wasted 3 electrical rectifiers in the last two years. A mechanic took off the thermostats and replaced the impeller on the water pump two years ago and ran it in the shop with no problem. When I run the engine at home for about 5 minutes at low speed , the overheat buzzer sounds off and the rectifier is shot. I have had no problem with the engine overheating in the water. Would like to fix problem so I can fush motor at home. I get a strong stream of water out the rear port on the engine showing good water pump pressure.
