1985 20HP Fuel Pump

I am replacing my fuel pump so I decided I wanted to take the old one apart ( To see what made it go ) And 3 little clear balls ( Smaller than a BB ) Came out. Any ideas? I am not able to see them in any diagrams..

That is part of the valving system, unfortunately there are no fuel pump diagrams.

Probably the best thing would be is to replace it I guess?
