Air cleaner

Hi Guys
This is my first post so please forgive me if this has been asked before,
I have a 1990 30hp electric start motor with remotes, the guy I got it from said these motors do not have an air cleaner, I have just got my self a clymer Manual there is unfortunately no information or pictures regarding this. There is nothing apart from a single stud beyond the carb, my question is what if anything am I missing from my motor.
