won't idle model # E60TLCEA 60 hp 1989

now starts after replacing power pack, coils,wires, plugs,fuelfilter and cold fuel primer soenold. But won't idle does start then idles down so slow it will stall out in 30 seconds unless I activate the primer solenoid by pressing key in or pump the in-line fuel primer bulb on gasoline line. Tried picking up fast idle lever but doesn't do anything and doesn't feel right, no resistance is felt when picking up the lever. Was able to increase rpm real high one time by manually closing throttle plates back and forth. I have not tried any idle speed mixture adjustments on carbs or not tried adjusting idle speed set screw on linkage.

Sounds like you need to remove the carburetors and clean thoroughly. You should also check and verify fuel pump is pumping fuel to the carburetor, could have a defective fuel pump.
