56 5.5 Fisherman

I've read that the older (50s) 5.5 Fisherman outboards were designed for freshwater use.
Is this true?
And if so is there a problem with using them in salt water?

I am unfamiliar with that old of a model, however as long as you properly flush and clean after saltwater use, you should be ok.

throttle twist grip

I was out on the water today with the fisherman on the back of my little sailboat.
I found the twist grip throttl.e wouldn't stay onn faster speeds unless I held it there. My boats a double ender with a fair sized lazarette and the motor is on a mount tht puts it a further 18-12" off the back so I really can't be holding all the time (I steer with my boats tiller)
Does anybody know how to snug one of these up so it stays at one setting?

look below the motor on the dog leg. should have a screw there to tighten the steering up a bit.
