I have recently purchased a 1994 225hp Evinrude Vindicator that has been sitting for 4 years.
My last boat had a 1986 175hp Merc. The oil pump decided to stop working and you know the results...scorn cylinder #1.
Here is my dilemma, please share your thoughts to educate me.
I am thinking of changing my new engine over (taking out VRO) and going to mixing myself.
Yes, I am a little gun shy but can't offord to have another blown engine. I have been told that the Evinrude's VRO system when going bad will run rich and usually not blow like Mercs are known to do.
What are you thoughts, they are much appreciated.
Thank you very much!
