  • Efi 250 missfire lumpy running

I have a 250 with 200 hrs 12 months old from new it has had a missfire or runs lumplily in the range 1200 to 2000 rpm

My dealer and the only one in Greece has attended occasionally to view the problem last week he sold me a new set of spark plugs and then walked away saying the problem is fixed. He also said via email not to contact BRP about the problem.

The problem continues BRP do not provide any help

Has anyone any ideas we have done all the obvious eliminating all external probs such as running engine from a can of fuel etc.

We have a suspicion that damage was caused to the engine when it almost fell off the boat. The dealer installed it with the wrong bolts and also selected the wrong engine for the boat. It was laid on it side of several months an water may well do run back into a cylinder.

We did offer to allow the dealer to inspect the cylinders with our bore camera but he refused saying he knew better.

Any one with any ideas ? Any dealer want a holiday in Greece to come and have a look ?

    Neil

You really should have a computer diagnostic completed on the engine. This will help with the narrowing of the problem. Could be fuel pressure, needs to be around 40psi. TPS adjustment. Computer download will help eliminate ignition or sensor problems.
