shifter rod seal

I an trying to put a gearcase seal kit in my 9.5 1968 sport twin. Can anybody tell me how I am to replace the shifter rod seal? From what i can tell it is under a bras bushing that looks to be pressed in the upper gearcase beside the water pump housing. I can't see how it's possible to knock out that bushing from the bottom side or do I need some kind of puller to get out. Any help is appreciated!

Will probably have to order a new bushing as without tools to remove will probably damage it, use a heat gun and heat housing up and try to get it out with vise grips.
