I have a 1975 50 hp, 50esl75b. It fires right up after sitting... but then it will turn over all day long and wont fire. It will start under full throttle though... it has a new power pack,carbs have been cleaned, fuel pump and one new coil.... any ideas as to whats going on?

If has no fire, then remove black/yellow wire from power pack and recheck for spark, if now fires problem is ignition switch, stop switch or main harness.
Need to test charge coil and trigger coil output with a peak reading voltmeter to see if within specs. -

Start with a compression test, if good, then you are having carburetor or reed plate problems.Comment

Commpressions good, or atleast. Close to the same on both cylinders. What is the reed plate?Comment
