I am new to this forum (forums in general) and therefore apologise for any errors in using it.

I desperatly need some help with my E225FHLSOB.
I blew a fuse for fuel ignitors 2 and 5 : The check engine light came on and the engine went into limp mode. After replacing the 10 amp fuse the engine fails to start at all. When I remove the fuse the engine starts (with chk engine light on, buzzer sounding and still in limp mode)
I don't have the correct service manual and unfortunatly there are no Evinrude dealers in my country. Can anybody help ?
Can I download the service manaul from anywhere ?

Those motors are notorious for wiring issues. Unfortunately there is no easy answer. You need to have the computer diagnosed and even that may not narrow your issue.

      E225 blown fuse on fuel injectors 2 + 5

Thanks. I've been troubleshooting the whole afternoon and have discovered the following :
When I pull out the cable to injector No5 the engine startes (with the fuse in place). As soon as I put the cable back in the engine fails to start.
There are 2 cables going into the injector : a white (black strip) and a green
From my basic understanding, the white should always carry current.
I tested the green to earth and found continuity. This is not the case with all the other coloured cables that go into the other injectors.
I traced the cable back to the computer and did not find any fault.
I am suspecting the problem is with the computer box. What do you think ?
Can I open the computer and check ?

Computers are a commen replacement. However you should not dis***emble it. You will require a certified BRP Dealer.

          E225 blown fuse on fuel injectors 2 + 5

          Thanks.
It looks a though there is a company in the US called DFI technologies that can repair the EMM.
Do you know of them and if so would you recommend I send them the computer ?
Their contact tel no (001 866 298 1510) on their website constantly goes on to messaging. Do you know of any other tel nos ?

            Dfi

Definately contact DFI. I have sent them my ECU on two occasions for repair and they are the best. They will also help you diagnose your problem. First you should get the service codes off your engine before you call them. You can do this by placing your outboard in diagnostic mode. First disconnect the TPS (throttle position sensor) move the lever to the full throttle position and tie it off. Turn the key on for 10 sec's. The key switch must remain on throughout the test.observe the system check gauge's check engine light ( it will flash when diagnostic mode starts. service codes are flashed by the check engine light. Observe the light and count the flashes. The first code will be preceeded by a continuous long light. code are displayed in two digits such as 86 or 17 a short pause between the flashes will seperate the digits. A longer pause will seperate the codes. Codes will continue to be displayed till you take the engine out of diagnostc mode. Good luck

              Thanks for your help.
I have ordered the Diagnostic software and should hopefully receive it soon.

Do you have a contact No. for DFI ? The one listed on their website doesn't seem to work.

Do you think that something else might have caused the problem with the EMM ?
