I think I have a 1999 60hp evinrude outboard motor. Last year I took it out and at full speed it died after 1 minute. I took it in for a fix, they drained the tank and rebuilt the carbs, that worked for the next 2 times out then it went back to dying. This year I replaced the spark plugs, fuel filter, gas lines and primer injector. I drained the tank again, I took it to another mechanic, he replaced the impeller and said the arrow on the primer injector was set wrong. I took it out today and couldn't get it started. the gas I put in it is ethanol free. Please help!!

Start by checking spark and compression. If both are good, check to make sure your fuel pump is working.

If you have spark, compression and fuel, the unit should start.

I took my boat out today, it took about 10 minutes but it finally started. I let it idle for about 10 minutes no problem. I pulled away from the dock gave it half trottle and even full throttle for about 2 minutes then it just died. It restarted 2 or 3 times but only ran for about 2 seconds each time but wouldn't keep running and wouldn't start any more.

I had to stop for a minute an evaluate your advice. I realized my Aunt Nellie could have been more helpful. There is no need to respond, I won't be asking any more questions. With your expertise I now know why Evinrude motors are better suited for anchors than boat pushers!!
