I just bought a 1980 evinrude 4.5 two stroke outboard motor and the fuel lines were not connected to the carb. The motor has an integrated and auxillary fuel tanks and a fuel pump. My question is on the carb there are two fuel hose fittings i need to know what lines hook up to each fitting? I looked on a parts diagram and it looks like one of the fittings has a bladder behind it and the other does not.

One with bladder connects to integral fuel tank, the other one to fuel pump.

The fitting with the bladder is smaller than the one coming out of the intergral tank is there something that goes in between to reduce the size of the hose? It seems that the fitting with the bladder is the same size as the outlet fitting at the fuel pump. What does that bladder do?

The fuel line should go from tank, to filter, to carburetor.
