  • 1985 "70" slow to respond to throttle

    Hi there
My motor has since the day I bought it along with the boat (2nd hand). Had a quirky thing that you can move the throttle and it takes a few seconds for the motor to respond. It is the same throttling up and down. If I throttle up really slowly it is not a problem.
I've got good fuel, and generally it runs really well. My thinking is sticky cables? if so how do you fix this
    Cheers
    Steve
P.S I would like to take this oppurtunity to thank you for all your advise in the past.
You should really be charging for the free info ha ha ha .
    Seriously thanks so much .

Yes could have sticky cables, you would have to replace the cables. You can disconnect the throttle cable at the engine and manually operate the throttle. If it still does it then would be fuel or timing.
