I am on my 3rd starter for my 2008 Evinrude E-tech 115HP DSL outboard engine. Engine only has 175 hrs on it. When I turn key on, you can hear the starter spinning/turning, but does not throw the bendix up to engage the fly wheel. Brand new stating battery Nov. 2010. Engine under warranty so no cost to me, but puts much doubt in mind everytime I go to start engine. It did leave me stranded 8 miles from boat ramp a year ago. What happened to advertising talk--turn key...start engine first time every time?? Any thoughts or suggestions? Has this been a typical problem with E-techs?
