I recently purchased this 2.5 Hp and it runs great but does not appear to be cooling. I purchased a new water pump kit but can not get the shaft to come out of the ngine so I can ***emble the water pump around it. Is this situation normal. I can not insert the spine in the pump without getting the shaft out. Someone please help.

The engine gas no neutral
That is what I thought. I don't think it has a neutral so it is always in gear. Do you think i should pull on it with some vice grips?Comment

It does not have a neutral and what ever means you used, try not to gouge unit.Comment

Drive shaft will not come out!
I used a cloth and vice grips and hit it with a hammer an still can't get it out. Is it possible to get at it from the power head? this is getting frustrating.Comment

PB Blaster
Will it hurt anything if I spray PB Blaster toward the powerhead? It does not make sense that the shafts turns freeing but will not drop out.Comment

Is there a clamp or something holding it in? I just doesn't make sense that it turns so freely but won't come out.Comment

No there is no clamp holding in place. There is an oring, but that is just a seal to help keep dirt out.Comment

Finally Got It
We removed the whole exhaust housing up to the engine. Took off the retaining cap and sprayed it with PB Blaster and let it set a few hours. We put the retaining cap back on and used a hammer with vice grips to knock it out. just need to file off vice grip marks and re***emble.Comment

2.5 running again
After finally changing the water pump I got the engine running again but I have no sighs of any water cooling the engine. Were is the water suppose to exit the engine?Comment

Water is now spiting out about half way down the shaft. does that seem correct?Comment
