What is the factory-taught way to remove a shaft that is rusted to the powerhead at the spline interface of the engine?
Are there any non-factory ways that a shaft was actually removed without damaging the powerhead?
Has anyone cut off the shaft at the spline interface to make it a short stub, used a tap drill for a grease fitting, drilled the end of the stub to its end at the crankshaft end, threaded the drilled hole for and installed a grease fitting, then used pressure from a grease gun to hopefully swell the female spline slightly, perhaps also lubricate the spline grooves, and push the stub out?
