I recently accquired an 82 Evinrude 35 about three months ago. I have ran about 4 or 5 tanks of gas through it since I have had it. Today I took it out on the lake and ran it for a couple of miles and it ran great. While heading back to the landing it suddenly lost all power and RPMS were cut in half. When I applied throtle it instantly bogged down and cut off. When trying to re crank on the water it would turn over really fast and would try to crank, but not quite make it. Had to trolling motor in.
When I got home I pulled the cover and noticed I could spin the flywheel fairly easy. (No compression humps) I removed each sparkplug and there was little to no compression for each spark plug. I don't have a compression guage but I could put my thumb over each spark plug hole and could barely feel any pressure. Rotated flywheel and both pistons are moving up and down freely. Cylinder walls look smooth with no groves. No noticeable holes in block or anything like that.
Sorry so long but I wanted to be fairly detailed in my problem. I need help please!
