Hey guys first off id like to thank y'all for the bit of information I've gotten from this site so far. I have an 87 Heritage Pontoon with what Im guessing is a 87 motor, either way its and old style 2 stroke 40 HP VRO. Just got both the carbs rebuilt by the local marina, not even a month ago. And it has ran fine until now. Went to take it out Sunday and its always acted a little "cold natured" for some reason even though its not cold in NC . Got it out of the boat dock went to go and it won't go over about 5 mph. You can trim the motor out of the water and it revs fine but it won't gain any rpm's in the water. It feels like its binding up but Ive checked the prop and nothings around it. Its not busting up or anything but it just runs full throttle at a very low RPM. If anybody has had this problem or may can help id very much appreciate it Thanks

What are the RPMs its running at full throttle? Does it sound like it is running full RPMs just not going very fast?

Aint sure what RPM's. I don't even know what RPM's that little motor is capable of turning, i do know its not going but about half the rpm's it should be or does regularly Thanks
